Sandy has 15 years of experience teaching adaptive Chair Yoga as well as 40 years of movement education, teaching everything from Aquatics to Zumba. She believes that yoga is for every body and is passionate about making it accessible.
Learn how to create an adaptive yoga class which uses a chair for seated sequencing and movements as well as for support in standing and balancing poses. In Chair Yoga, participants do not do floor work, but through this training, you will learn how to adapt some of the postures generally done on the floor, what to consider when you have participants with joint replacements, and what to prioritize for this population.
The day will include a lunch break on Friday and the training includes the following requirements beyond the Friday training for a total of 10 hours. Certificates of completion will be granted upon completion of all requirements:
