We are made of dynamic connective tissues; from the fluidity of our blood to the firmness of our bones. Understanding this aspect of our physiology and the relationships of connectivity is important to understanding the root cause of many diseases. Hypermobility Spectrum Disorder (HSD) creates challenges not only to the connective tissue integrity, in areas like the cervical spine, it can affect multiple other systems because of the instability of the head and perceptive skill development. Another consideration is Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) which can increase risk to vascular structures, digestive tissues, and more.

Both HSD and EDS affect women at higher rates than men. Many go for years without a proper diagnosis. Learning about these conditions may help to advocate for better care, avoid worsening symptoms, and increase awareness of symptoms and improve research, outcomes, and support for others.
